Course: GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)

Admission Process:

i) Office Visit / Offline Mode:

  • Candidate/Guardian (either or both) must visit the college office.
  • Fill the Admission Form, pay the admission fees.
  • Collect fee receipt and fee agreement during provisional admission.
  • Before final admission, both candidate and guardian must be present in the office for completing official formalities.

ii) Online Admission:

  • Provisional Admission can be done online through the college’s official website:

Eligibility Criteria:

As per the latest INC guidelines and WBJEE norms:

  1. Nationality & Domicile:
    • The applicant must be a citizen of India.
    • Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years as on 31.12.2024.
  2. Age Limit:
    • Minimum Age: 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
    • Maximum Age: No upper age limit.
  3. Educational Qualification:
    • Passed 10+2 with English and obtained minimum 40% marks in aggregate and in English individually.
    • Eligible Boards include any recognized Board, State Open School (recognized by the State Govt.), and NIOS (recognized by the Central Govt.).
    • Candidates with 10+2 vocational ANM course (recognized by INC) with 40% marks.
    • Vocational stream candidates from CBSE or State Board in Healthcare Science are eligible if they passed any of these subject combinations:
      • Community Health Counselor (COHC)
      • Patient Care Assistant (PTCA)
      • Public Health & First Aid (PHFA)
    • Registered ANMs are also eligible.
  4. Language Requirement:
    • Must be able to read, write, and express in Bengali and/or Nepali.
  5. Medical Fitness:
    • Candidate must be medically fit and must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of admission.
  6. Gender Eligibility:
    • Both Male and Female candidates are eligible.
  7. Reservation:
    • SC/ST candidates get 5% marks relaxation.
    • 3% disability reservation for locomotor disabilities between 40%-50%.
    • Other reservations as per State Government norms.
    • Reservation is applicable within sanctioned seats and for domicile of West Bengal only.
  8. Should have WBJEEB-ANM(R) & GNM  rank card of the admission Year.

Scholarships Available:

  1. Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship:
    • Students securing 60% or above in Higher Secondary may receive ₹18,000/year.
    • Must maintain 60%+ marks every year in WBNC exams to continue eligibility.
  2. Oasis Scholarship:
    • For SC/ST/OBC students with valid caste certificates.

Must have no backlogs in the academic year to be eligible.

Admission Process

  • Pay the admission fee.
  • Collect fee receipt and fee agreement for provisional admission.
  • Both student and guardian must be present before final admission for document verification and official formalities.

ii) Online Admission:

Eligibility Criteria

As per Indian Nursing Council (INC) and WBJEE guidelines:

  1. Nationality & Domicile:
    • Must be a citizen of India.
    • Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years as of 31.12.2023.
  2. Age Limit:
    • Minimum age: 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year.
    • No upper age limit.
  3. Gender:
    • Only female candidates are eligible for B.Sc. Nursing.
  4. Educational Qualification:
    • Passed 10+2 (Science stream) with:
      • Minimum 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
      • Minimum 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
      • Must have passed English individually.
    • State Open School and NIOS candidates (recognized by central/state government) are eligible.
    • Vocational stream students are not eligible.
  5. Language:
    • Candidate must be able to read, write, and express in Bengali or Nepali.
  6. Medical Fitness:
    • Must be medically fit and submit a certificate of medical fitness during admission.
  7. Reservation:
    • As per Government of West Bengal norms for SC/ST/OBC candidates (with valid certificate).
  8. Should have JENPAS-UG  rank card of the admission Year.

Scholarships Available

  1. Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship:
    • For students with 60% or more in Higher Secondary.
    • ₹60,000/year for 4 years.
    • Must maintain 60% or more each year in WBUHS examinations.
  2. Oasis Scholarship (Backward Classes):
    • Applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates with valid caste certificate.

Must not have any backlog to continue receiving the scholarship annually.
