Anti-Ragging Policy

Bishnupur Public School & College of Nursing strictly prohibits ragging in any form within the campus, hostel premises, classrooms, laboratories, transportation, and all institutional activities. The institution is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and friendly academic environment for all students. Any act of ragging, whether physical, mental, verbal, emotional, or cyber-related, will be treated as a serious offense and will invite strict disciplinary action as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of India.

Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Committee

The Anti-Ragging Committee has been formed to prevent ragging and ensure a healthy and secure atmosphere for students. The committee aims to:

  • Create awareness among students regarding anti-ragging laws and regulations.

  • Promote discipline, mutual respect, and harmony among students.

  • Encourage students to report any ragging-related incidents without fear.

  • Take immediate action against individuals involved in ragging activities.

  • Provide support and counseling to affected students whenever required.

Functions of the Committee

The committee regularly monitors the campus and hostel environment to ensure that no ragging activities take place. Awareness programs, orientation sessions, counseling, and surprise inspections are conducted from time to time. The committee also maintains confidentiality while handling complaints and ensures prompt investigation and fair action.

Punishment for Ragging

Any student found involved in ragging directly or indirectly may face strict disciplinary action, including suspension, expulsion from the institution, cancellation of admission, hostel expulsion, or legal action according to anti-ragging laws. The institution follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.

Student Responsibility

All students and guardians are advised to cooperate in maintaining a ragging-free campus. Students should respect the dignity and individuality of fellow students and immediately report any incident of ragging to the Anti-Ragging Committee or college authorities.

Helpline & Complaint Support

Students can report ragging incidents directly to the Anti-Ragging Committee members, Principal, or administrative office. Complaints may also be submitted confidentially through the official contact channels of the institution. Immediate support and necessary action will be provided to ensure student safety and well-being.
