Academic Rules & Attendance

Bishnupur Public School and College of Nursing

The Bishnupur Public School and College of Nursing follows a structured academic system to maintain discipline, quality education, and professional standards as per the norms of the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and State Nursing Council.

All students admitted to the nursing programmes are required to strictly adhere to the following academic rules and regulations.

Admission & Institutional Authority

  • Every student must comply with the rules and regulations of the Institute.

  • Admission may be cancelled at any stage if false or incomplete information is found.

  • The Management reserves the right to amend rules and regulations whenever necessary.

  • Decisions taken by the Management shall be final and binding on all students.

Fees & Continuation of Course

  • Students must pay all prescribed fees within the stipulated time.

  • Non-payment of fees may lead to cancellation of admission.

  • Fees once paid are non-refundable under any circumstances.

  • Students discontinuing the course must clear all outstanding dues.

Attendance Requirements

  • Minimum 80% attendance in theory classes is mandatory to appear in examinations.

  • 100% attendance in clinical postings is compulsory as per nursing council norms.

  • Regular and punctual attendance in lectures, practicals, clinical teaching, tutorials, tests, seminars, conferences, and institutional activities is mandatory.

  • Prior written permission through the Class Coordinator and Principal is required for any absence.

  • Students must remain present on the first and last working days before and after vacations.

Academic Discipline & Conduct

  • Silence and discipline must be maintained in classrooms, library, corridors, and hospital premises.

  • Students must follow proper communication channels and should not directly approach authorities without permission.

  • Any act damaging the reputation of the Institute may result in disciplinary action including expulsion.

  • Students are expected to maintain ethical and professional behaviour inside and outside the campus.

Clinical Training & Professional Ethics

  • Acceptance of gifts from patients or their relatives is strictly prohibited.

  • Visitors are not allowed during class or clinical hours except in emergencies.

  • Students must maintain professional conduct during hospital and community postings.

  • Proper care must be taken of all hospital and laboratory equipment.

Library & Institutional Property

  • Library books and materials must be handled carefully.

  • Loss or damage of library materials will require replacement or repair at the student’s expense.

  • Any damage to college or hospital property will be treated as a breach of discipline.

Prohibited Activities

  • Use of mobile phones in classrooms, hospital, and clinical areas is strictly prohibited.

  • Consumption of alcohol, narcotics, or involvement in antisocial or criminal activities is prohibited.

  • Ragging in any form is strictly banned and punishable as per law.

  • Possession of weapons, explosives, or objectionable materials is strictly forbidden.

  • Participation in political activities is not permitted.

Dress Code & Identity

  • Wearing prescribed uniform during college and hospital hours is compulsory.

  • Jewellery, painted nails, bracelets, and ornaments are not permitted.

  • Students must carry their identity cards at all times during academic and clinical activities.

Health, Safety & Campus Responsibility

  • In case of illness, students must obtain permission from the Principal for absence.

  • Students must cooperate in maintaining a clean, green, and disciplined campus environment.

  • Any misbehaviour with staff or disturbance in academic activities may result in strict disciplinary action.
